Become A Volunteer
“Get Involved with First and Goal, Inc.”
Volunteers are crucial to the First and Goal, Inc. mission. There are several ways for you to donate your time and expertise, and be part of our students’ educational journey. Anything you bring can change the course of someone’s life. Our students succeed because volunteers like you commit to bringing change to the students that we serve.
Volunteer Opportunities
Read to Succeed Mentors:
Read to Succeed Mentors commit one or two hour per month during the school year to a designated class arranged by the school. The Reed to Succeed Mentor is committed to developing a meaningful connection with the local school and class that they support each month.
The Read to Succeed Reading Program supports and prepares mentors by providing:
- Training and resources for all mentors are offered throughout the year
- Ongoing logistical and scheduling support
- Ideas for books to read with the student and topics to discuss
- Support from a trained Read to Succeed Reading Program team member who can guide and enrich the student-mentor relationship.
Career Mentors:
Career Mentors are professional resources for our students. Many of our students have limited exposure to the variety of career opportunities available to them. Research shows that young people gain so much when the adults in the community share their skills and experience with the next generation.
Become a Career Mentor and help turn students dream into reality. We are always looking for professionals willing to provide support and incite as Career Mentors for First and Goal, Inc. as classroom guest speakers or Career Day Presenters for the campuses that we serve throughout the school.
