About Us

First and Goal, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to provide the necessary tools, support, and resources for youth that will enrich, equip and empower them to be productive members of society. First and Goal, Inc, was established in 1999 by former National Football League (NFL) players, Tyrone Smith and Darnell Walker of the San Francisco 49ers. The purpose of First and Goal, Inc. is to provide a unique service in which youth will obtain resources to enhance academic, social, and moral development.

It is the goal of First and Goal, Inc. to create an atmosphere that promotes educational challenges, moral development, and proactive social behavior among youth, as well as the adults that serve them. It is through the organization’s slogan “A Game Plan for Life” that youth are encouraged to be active participants in achieving their dreams. Academic failure, lack of positive role models, negative peer pressure, low self-esteem, poor social skills, youth violence, and a lack of leadership and coping skills are just a few of the issues that create obstacles for youth in reaching their potential and fulfilling their dreams. First and Goal, Inc. has effectively developed programs that attend to the sensitive issues facing today’s youth by implementing a consistent, personalized approach.

Our organization collectively serves over 2,000 + youth each year and works with them to develop their leadership skills, character, and social-emotional skills to carry them through school, college, and beyond!
